Farmacia Internacional is built around the shell of an old pharmacy in Colonia Hipódromo - the counter, the cabinets, and the general air of a place that once dispensed remedies now dispensing espresso and food that functions as its own kind of cure. The Hipódromo neighborhood takes its name from the racetrack that sat here in the early 20th century, long replaced by Art Deco apartment buildings. Farmacia has the feel of a neighborhood institution that's been there longer than it actually has.
