Anton Nijmeh opened this as a straight American drive-in in 1966, then began handing customers falafel because it was what he cooked at home, and the menu eventually followed him. His children run it now from the same Stevens Creek lot, picnic tables out front beneath murals of old San Jose. The falafel sandwich with a banana shake is the pairing locals order without discussion, and the koubby sells out.
