Las Cuatro Milpas

Barrio Logan, San Diego · Mexican · $

The Estudillo family opened Las Cuatro Milpas on Logan Avenue in 1933, in the middle of the Depression, and fed Barrio Logan the same handful of things for ninety-two years: rolled tacos, chorizo con huevo, tamales, beans, flour tortillas made by hand. Tasting Table named it the best hole-in-the-wall in California; a tax debt closed it in December 2025 and the family reopened in May 2026 inside Mercado del Barrio at 1985 National Ave. Same recipes, same line, 8am to 3pm.
