Museo Diego Rivera y Frida Kahlo

In the 1930s, architect Juan O'Gorman designed two interlocking studio-houses for Diego Rivera and Frida Kahlo in San Ángel - a pink cube and a blue one joined by a rooftop bridge, which became one of Mexico's most photographed domestic spaces. Rivera used the giant north-lit studio for his murals; Kahlo worked in her smaller adjacent house until their relationship collapsed and she retreated to Coyoacán. The spaces are preserved largely as they left them: tools still on workbenches, a papier-mâché Judas figure hanging from the ceiling.
