Santarpio's has been on Chelsea Street in East Boston since 1903, which means it was already old before Logan Airport opened and before the neighborhood changed around it. The pies are thin-crusted, charred at the edges, built with the restraint that comes from not needing to impress anyone new. The grilled meat skewers - lamb, sausage, steak tips - are ordered by regulars without looking at the menu. Cash only. No decor to speak of. The pizza is the whole point.
