El Vilsito is a vulcanizadora - a tire repair shop - in Narvarte that transforms after dark into one of the city's most beloved taco al pastor spots, the trompo (vertical spit) set up in the forecourt while the mechanics pack up. Al pastor is Mexico City's signature taco, descended from Lebanese shawarma brought by immigrants in the early 20th century, adapted over decades with achiote, chiles, and pineapple into something entirely its own. Vilsito doesn't trade on the gimmick anymore - the reputation is the draw.
