Santi and Virginia Catelli opened a place called The Rex on Geyserville Avenue in 1936, and it fed the valley for more than fifty years before closing in 1991. Their grandchildren Domenica and Nick brought it back in 2010, with Domenica cooking the family recipes alongside her own. The ten-layer lasagna and the garlic bread that lands on nearly every table are why people drive up from Healdsburg on a weeknight.
