Rudy’s took its name from a Clash song when it opened in 2002, and the fit is exact: Green Day’s Mike Dirnt is part owner, the room is chrome and vinyl and loud, and it sits opposite the Emeryville theatres. It closed abruptly in 2022 and was back inside two months under largely new ownership with the menu intact. Monster burger for the classicists, crunchy Asian tofu salad for everyone else at the table.
