Pike Place, Seattle · $$ · 10 pts
Storyville sources from the top 2 percent of the world's coffee and roasts each bean varietal separately before blending, a precision method their Bainbridge Island roastery perfected before opening this flagship shop in 2013. Beyond craftsmanship, the company ties every cup to a mission: a portion of proceeds goes to organizations fighting human trafficking.

International District, Seattle · $$ · 8 pts
Vietnam is the world's second largest coffee-producing country, a fact Hello Em won't let you forget. Co-owners Yenvy Pham and Nghia Bui source single-origin robusta beans directly from Buon Ma Thuot and roast them in house on a Neuhaus Neotec air roaster, built into a space on Weller Street that doubles as a community arts center run by the neighborhood non-profit Friends of Little Saigon. The coffee feels genuinely rooted in the district rather than themed around it, with local Vietnamese art and cultural history displays making the cultural work as central as the brew.
