If you write about food, you already make lists. The problem is what happens to them after you hit publish: a screenshot of a map is out of date the week a place closes, and a list of names sends your reader off to Google to do your work again.
A SPOT guide is a list that stays alive. Here is one of ours, dropped straight into this post.
What just happened
That is not a picture. Tap a pin and the list scrolls to the place. Open a spot and you get the story, what to order, and a map pill that works. When we edit the guide in the app, this post catches up on its own.
How to do it on your site
- Build a guide in the SPOT app, or ask us to move one across.
- Copy the guide link, the one that looks like
spot-guide.com/g/your-guide. - On WordPress with the SPOT Guides plugin, paste the link on its own line. Anywhere else, add the two lines of HTML from the creators page.
Your byline, your links, your email list. The embed hands you the reader instead of keeping them.
That is the whole thing. Questions, or want help moving a list over? Write to us from the creators page.
